Videos and pictures of three maternal uncles presenting their niece wedding gifts worth more than Rs 3 crore in Rajasthan’s Nagaur district have gone viral on social media. The bride’s maternal grandfather and uncles arrived at the wedding location with a tractor, plot paperwork, and Rs 80 lakh in cash and jewellery for the customary ceremony known as “mamera” or “mayra,” in which the groom’s or bride’s maternal uncle brings gifts for his niece or nephew’s wedding. Everyone present at the typical procedure was shocked by the enormous sum.
A Twitter user posted the footage on Twitter. The popular video’s description stated (in translation), “Then how did Myra get separated from dowry? Only the way of giving is looking different.”
