Viral: Students consuming liquor in school bus

A group of females and boys standing on the bus can be seen guzzling liquor bottles in the footage. They were on their way to Thachur from Thirukazhukundram.

On social media, a video of school pupils enjoying alcohol on a moving bus in Tamil Nadu’s Chengalpattu district has caused a sensation. One of the pupils on the bus is believed to have shot the video that has gone viral on social media.

According to the media, all of the students are believed to be from a government school. The video was previously thought to be an old one that had reappeared on the internet.

Police then issued a statement clarifying that the incident occurred on Tuesday and that the children were riding the bus from Thirukazhukundram to Thachur.

The event has also been reported to the district’s education authority. In addition, authorities have launched an investigation and promised to take appropriate action.

According to the officials, “When the tired students asked for water, the teachers, who were in an inebriated condition, served them bottles containing alcohol, following which few students felt uneasiness and even vomited.”
