Days after an Indian national was killed after sustaining an apparent gunshot wound to his head in the US state of Maryland, a 31-year-old man of Indian descent was shot and killed in Queens as he sat in a rented SUV parked across the street from his home.

Around 3:45 pm on Saturday, The New York Daily News reported that Satnam Singh was being shot at while seated behind the wheel of a black Jeep Wrangler Sahara that was parked in South Ozone Park.

Singh, according to the police, resided just a few doors away from the scene of the shooting.

Singh was struck in the chest and neck and sent to a nearby hospital where, according to authorities, he eventually passed away.

According to investigators, it appears that Singh had recently borrowed the automobile from a friend and wanted it to pick up someone.

The report added that no arrests have been made in the case thus far and that investigators were attempting to “establish if the gunman was aiming at Singh or was intending to murder the SUV’s owner and was unaware who was inside.”

The story stated that although neighbors claim the gunman’s gunfire came from a silver automobile with a black trunk as it passed the Jeep, the police claim Singh was approached by the shooter on foot.

According to a neighbor, Joan Cappellani, “(Singh) was walking up 129th St. going to the car when the other car with the perp in it pulled up.”

“(It) turned around, came back, and then went down 129th Street with a ‘Pow! Pow! Pow!'” Cappellani’s home security cameras captured the incident, and officers from the New York Police Department are currently looking through the film for possible evidence.

She remarked, “It was simply another chaotic day in South Ozone Park.”

According to neighbor Christina Persaud in the New York Daily News article, “He was really kind and quiet.” “I always greeted him when I saw him. He might have been the objective, but I’m not sure.” Days prior, Telangana resident Sai Charan of Indian descent was discovered in Baltimore, Maryland, with what seemed to be a gunshot wound inside his SUV.
