An active BJP member was among the wanted Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists who were today apprehended in Jammu and Kashmir. In Jammu, he was also in charge of the party’s Minority Morcha social media presence. The locals in Jammu’s Reasi neighborhood caught Talib Hussain Shah and his accomplice this morning. They were found to have two AK rifles, multiple grenades, and other weapons and ammo. Finally, they were turned over to the police.
The mechanism of online membership that enables people to join the party without any background checks was criticized by the BJP.
With this arrest, “a new issue has arisen,” claimed party spokesman RS Pathania. There was even a plot to assassinate the senior leadership, which the police foiled, according to him. “I’d say this is a new model,” he stated.
“There are people that want to spread terror across the border. The BJP now allows online membership for everyone. Since there is no system in place to check the criminal history or ancestry of those applying for membership online, I would say that this is a disadvantage “Added he.
Shah was chosen by the BJP on May 9 to oversee the social media and IT operations for the party in Jammu.
According to a directive from the BJP Minority Morcha J&K, “Mr. Talib Hussain Shah, at Draj Kotranka, Budhan, District Rajouri, shall be the new IT & Social Media Incharge BJP Minority Mocha Jammu Province with immediate effect.
There are several photos of Shah with senior BJP figures, including Ravindra Raina, the president of J&K.
