The Lahore High Court (LHC) to hear the petition to introduce electric vehicles to eliminate environmental pollution and smog here on Thursday (today).
According to the details, the LHC has issued a petition seeking the reply of the Federal Government.
Lahore High Court’s designated Chief Justice Mamun Rashid Shaikh will hear the case.
The court has also issued notices to the Federal Board of revenue (FBR) for tax exemption on electric vehicles.
Applicants conceded that the main cause of pollution across the city is vehicle exhaust, poor city gasoline and diesel toxic smoke.
In the petitioner’s position, it has been said that electric vehicles have been introduced around the world.
Therefore, the policy on electric vehicles has been formulated in Pakistan but it is not being implemented.
Taking a stand in the petition, it was requested that the court should order the government to take notice on electric vehicles’ manufacturing.
