Pakistan to witness colder weather in February than usual, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said on Sunday.

According to PMD, the minimum temperature in Karachi was recorded 11.5°C and is expected to drop by 9°C today.

In addition, the humidity in the metropolis has been recorded at 72%, with light winds expected to blow from the southwestern direction, added PMD.

On the other hand, the weather department has predicted dry weather in the northern and mountainous areas of Balochistan. Pakistan to see colder February than usual, says PMD.

Earlier,  The second wave of cold weather had entered Karachi. Cold and dry winds started blowing in the city on January 23.

The temperature recorded in Karachi was 18 degrees Celsius. Winds had blown with a speed of 10 to 30 kilometers in the city whereas the sight limit was between 2 to 3 kilometers.

Cloudy weather with chances of rain (snowfall over hills) in Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and northeast Punjab on Saturday. However, cold and dry weather was reported elsewhere in the country. Fog prevailed few plain areas of Punjab as well.
