Vladimir Putin advises evacuating Kherson’s residents
Russian President Vladimir Putin suggested on Friday, that civilians in the province of Kherson, which is located in Ukraine, should be removed from areas where fighting is taking place.
Putin reportedly addressed a meeting at the Kremlin that those who reside in Kherson should be relocated from the zone of the most dangerous measures because the civilian population should not suffer. This was reported by the Russian state news outlet RIA Novosti.
In the city of Kherson, Ukrainian forces are currently conducting an offensive on multiple fronts, and officials in the region who are supported by Russia have ordered civilians to evacuate areas on both sides of the Dnieper river. This comes amid indications that Russian forces are attempting to improve their defenses in several different areas.
