There is no number limit for pilgrims to perform Umrah says Hajj Ministry

• There is no number limit for pilgrims to perform Umrah, said Saudi’s Hajj Ministry.
• Tourists, or those who are on work visa are permitted to perform Umrah.
• In October 2020, Saudi government allowed  limited number of pilgrims to perform Umrah.

The Saudi Arabian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has announced that there is no number limit for pilgrims to perform Umrah.

Ministry has said that “ it is mandatory to comply with the directive to take an appointment for the specific time for performing the pilgrimage.”

Ministry emphasized that, those who travelled to the Kingdom on a visit, tourist, or work visa are permitted to perform Umrah. During the departure from the Kingdom, the pilgrim can also change the mode of transportation according to their choice.

Additionally, Authorities pointed out that, the holder of an Umrah visa may travel between Makkah and Madinah, as well as between all cities in the Kingdom, during the period of his stay. Umrah pilgrims can travel to and from the Kingdom through any international or regional airport.

It is pertinent to mention here that the announcement follows the Kingdom’s eased restrictions on Umrah and Hajj due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

In October 2020, the Saudi government allowed a limited number of pilgrims to perform Umrah, and in July 2021, it increased the capacity for both Umrah and Hajj.

With the easing of restrictions, the ministry hopes to welcome pilgrims from around the world who were unable to perform Umrah due to the pandemic.
