The Met Office has issued a warning that power outages are anticipated, and some evening rush hour travelers will experience disruption.
On Thursday, it is more likely to snow more heavily across a region of the UK that primarily encompasses the north of England, north Wales, Northern Ireland, and the majority of Scotland.
In the north of England, temperatures also plummeted to lows of -8C.
Due to the snowfall, flights from Bristol Airport had already been halted while a “snow clearance operation” was underway.
Although it has reopened, certain flights are still being affected.
During the course of Wednesday, temperatures in the north of Scotland will remain below zero.
The weather will be significantly below average for this time of year in the hills of Wales and the south of England, where temperatures will only rise to 2 or 3C in the afternoon.
South Wales has already closed more than 100 schools as a result of the snow.
Bitter weather is likely to last over the weekend and get worse further north later in the week.
