A Florida woman recorded a joyful alligator pursuing a remote-control toy boat across a retention pond’s surface.
When the gator’s attention was drawn to a neighbour’s remote-controlled boat in the Jacksonville retention pond, the filmer, a producer for media, captured footage.

In the video, the gator can be seen chasing the boat across the water’s surface.
It’s unclear whether the alligator mistook the boat for a potential food source, but researchers from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville found playful behaviour in alligators and other crocodiles in a 2015 study.
