Malik Shehzad Ahmad Khan

Early life and education

Malik Shehzad Ahmad Khan was born in Pindi Gheb, District Attock on 15th March 1963. He completed his graduation from Gordon College, Rawalpindi, and received his Bachelor’s degree from Punjab University.

He obtained his LLB degree from University Law College, University of Punjab, Lahore, in 1989 before starting a legal profession.

Legal career

Malik Shehzad enrolled as an Advocate of the local courts in 1990 and started his law practice in Rawalpindi. He enrolled as Advocate of Lahore High Court in 1993.

Several years later, he became Advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan in 2004. He has extensive experience spanning over two decades and has contested a large number of cases.

He took an active part in the Bar elections and was elected as Secretary General of the High Court Bar Association, Rawalpindi in 2004. He was also elected as President of the High Court Bar Association, Rawalpindi in 2009.

Lahore High Court

Malik Shahzad was elevated as Additional Judge of Lahore High Court on 12th May 2011 and was confirmed on 11th May 2013.

He briefly served as the Acting Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court from 30th June to 22th July 2022 when Justice Ameer Bhatti was abroad in Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah.

He is currently serving as the Senior Puisne Judge of the Lahore High Court since 3rd July 2021, making him the senior most judge. He will retire from service on 14 March 2025.
