The national toll of confirmed novel coronavirus cases in Pakistan has passed 85000 with 1770 recorded deaths.

As per details, cases have surged to 85,264 with a record case of 4,688 in the last 24 hours. According to the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), so far, 32,910 cases have been detected in Sindh, 31,104 in Punjab, 11,373 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 5,224 in Balochistan, 3,544 in Islamabad, 285 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and 824 in Gilgit Baltistan.

28,923 patients have recovered from the disease, while 53,366 are still fighting the deadly virus. After 82 coronavirus deaths in the last 24 hours the total tally of fatalities now stands at 1,770. At least 356 new cases recorded in the federal capital in the last 24 hours. One more case also recorded in Azad Jammu and Kashmir taking the region’s tally to 285.

The country also recorded 82 deaths compared to 67 deaths recorded on Wednesday. So far, 615,511 tests conducted across the country.with 20,167 new tests during the period of the last 24 hours.

World coronavirus cases

Coronavirus pandemic has claimed more than 386,731 lives across the world so far, with over six point five million confirmed cases.

The United States is on top of the list with over 109,140 deaths followed by Britain 39,728 and Italy with 33,601 deaths.

Mexican health authorities reported 1,092 coronavirus deaths on Wednesday, the highest toll in one day so far, with total infections surging past 100,000.

On the other hand, China reported one new coronavirus case and four new asymptomatic COVID-19 cases for June 3.

The total number of infections in China stands at 83,022. The death toll remained unchanged at 4,634.
