She lived in New York City until she moved to Los Angeles, where Sebastian was born in 1944. She started her career in 1977 while working as the set photographer for Joan Micklin Silver’s film Between The Traces. She worked with people like Sam Mendes (American Magnificence, 1999), Joel and Ethan Coen (True Grit, 2010), and Taylor Sheridan (Hell or High Water, 2016); the latter is listed as her final documented images job. She has over 100 credits to her name.

Sebastian spent her last years in Truchas, New Mexico, where she had retired after a brief marriage to John Sebastian of the Loving Spoonful. She always took her beloved dog on vacation with her. Sebastian is survived by her two dogs, who with their friends explored new homes.

Her daughters Codi Sebastian and Lexi Sebastian of Dickinson, her grandson Kanin Sebastian, brother Darin Haman of Towner, sister Melanie (Scott) Best of Norwich, her niece Cheznie Best of Norwich, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, will all miss her dearly. Many of Lori’s beloved pets as well as her parents and mother preceded her in death.
