That is what some fans are responding to writer Jon Kasdan Tweet regarding Tony Revolori’s character Graydon from the television series Willow. The fifth episode of Willow featured a number of themes, including potentially rebirth and self-discovery.

According to Kasdan, Wes Anderson “very badly wanted a clean-shaven” Revolori for the upcoming Wes Anderson film Asteroid City, which would have created a continuity issue for the show given that Graydon has a moustache and a neatly groomed chin beard. “But a little rewrite & a big assist from Charlie Rawes, lead [sp] to one of my fave bits in ep. 5, proving ‘no’ The scene Kasdan is referring to occurs after the crew escapes the Gales by going through the Wildwood, an erratic and eerie woodland where the Bone Reavers live.

Toth, played by Rawes, helps Graydon shave at a party they host to celebrate Jade’s return so he can look good for Elora (Ellie Bamber), who he has a crush on. Then Toth informs him, “Oh. Females favour beards. Kind of wish you had have informed us that sooner.”

In response to the revealed fact, viewers of the broadcast thought the interaction was cute and hilarious. After what happened to Graydon at Nockmaar, several people claimed it represented a metaphorical rebirth of his personality.

One user made the joke that they could have simply removed Anderson CGI Revolori’s moustache, just like they did with Henry Cavill’s in the Justice League movie.

By using the situation to set up Revolori’s impending part, a continuity mistake that would have occurred was prevented. It was instead included into what was already known to be Graydon’s amorous affections for Elora.

Since Elora is meant to save the world, as Willow claims, we’ll have to wait and see if those feelings are returned.

The official summary provided by Disney describes Willow as “an epic period fantasy series with a modern sensibility set in an enchanted realm of magnificent beauty.” Willow made its Disney+ debut on November 30.

The story continues as an unusual group of heroes embark on a perilous voyage to locations far from their home, where they must confront their inner demons and band together to save their world, taking place some time after the events of the 1988 film (also known as Willow). The show also features Warwick Davis, Erin Kellyman, Dempsey Bryk, Amar Chadha Patel, and Ruby Cruz in addition to Rawes and Revolori.
