Amanda Seyfried speaks on Ariana Grande role in ‘Wicked’
Amanda Seyfried "bent over backwards" to secure Ariana Grande's role in "Wicked."...
Amanda Seyfried, 37, admitted to Access Hollywood on the red carpet that the dress was “torn and actually breaking.”
The honourable actress made her red carpet debut on Sunday wearing a gold archival dress from the French design label, styled by Elizabeth Stewart. The Dropout star admitted the dress was not entirely photogenic, despite how shiny the metallic design appeared in pictures
She jokingly said, “I am just going to take off my dress,” as one of her tassel-adorned sleeves fell down her arm. She wore the floppy sleeve as a fashion statement while piping up, “Honestly it is old, it is wonderful!”
The design, from the label’s spring-summer 2020 collection, was cut from a single piece of twisted, fringed gold lamé chiffon.
Seyfried claimed earlier in the evening that she felt successful because of how she looked.
If I do not receive one, at least I look like one because it is a statue dress, she joked.
Despite her wardrobe crisis, Seyfried has a lot to look forward to at the event on Sunday. She wore a Dior dress to accept the award for best actress (limited series or movie made for television) for The Dropout, along with Cartier jewellery, gold liquid metallic Stuart Weitzman heels, a bright red lip, Lancôme’s L’Absolu Rouge Intimatte Lipstick in French Touch, and a stylish, carefree ponytail.
However, when taking the stage later in the evening to accept the award for best limited series for the hit Hulu series alongside her cast and crew, it appeared that Seyfried’s wardrobe malfunction had gotten the best of her. The star was seen wearing a black jacket and let her hair down in loose waves to seemingly cover up the broken gown.
