The filming of “Rush Hour 4″ has officially begun, says Jackie Chan, who made the announcement at the Red Sea International Film Festival in December.

The legendary actor stated, “We’re currently discussing ‘Rush Hour 4’,” and added that they will be meeting later that evening to work on the script. Outside of Chan’s tease, there are no official “Rush Hour 4” information, but Chris Tucker, who co-starred with Chan in the first film, is more than anxious to return.

While promoting his part in Ben Affleck’s “Air,” Tucker chatted with Audacy’s V-103 recently. On his list of upcoming tasks, “Rush Hour 4” was listed.

“You’re going to see a lot of good stuff coming, but it’s going to be on a whole other level,” Tucker said. “That’s what I like… I’m excited about that. It’s not going to be what you’ve normally seen… ‘Rush Hour 4,’ that’s something I definitely will probably drop in there because I love working with Jackie, but I’ve got some new stuff that I think you’re really gonna like. I’m excited about it.”

The idea of a fourth “Rush Hour” film has been discussed for a long time. A “Rush Hour 4” was finally coming, as Tucker predicted back in 2018 and added at the time, “It’s happening. The rush of all rushes will be this one. We want to accomplish something so that people never forget it, and Jackie is prepared. The sequel fizzled out at that point.

Brett Ratner, who has recently been accused by many women of sexual harassment and assault, directed all three “Rush Hour” films. Ratner and Warner Bros. no longer have any affiliations. Warner Bros.-owned New Line distributed the “Rush Hour” trilogy.
