It was actor Nargis Fakhri first time watching a live match at the FIFA World Cup. Moreover, she admits she was astonished to find herself becoming a passionate football fan in the stadium.
Fakhri continues, “I don’t think Fifa fever can be explained in words, you have to feel it to believe it. It was just so exciting, I was surprised how much I talked about the game and then how excited I was to see the next game, almost as if I was an avid football fan or spectator since childhood. The energy just sucks you in. This was a spontaneous trip, we decided just a few days before”.
On her love for football, she says, “I love sports and admire athletes for their hard work and discipline. I enjoy watching all sports. And I have seen many different sports games live but Football (soccer) was my very first live game and for it to be FIFA world cup is just another level of excitement”.
The Rockstar actor witnessed the semi-final match between Morocco and France. Which according to her was really intense. France won the match and advanced to the final. However, on December 18, France and Argentina faced off in the FIFA World Cup 2022 final. In which Argentina won the trophy.
Opening up about the match, she says, “The vibe was insane! The fans were cheering non-stop. I enjoyed both semi- final games but Morocco versus France was intense. I was hoping for Morocco to win as I was aware they were the underdogs who made it to the semi finals. The stadium for that game was filled with Moroccan fans cheering so loud”.
“That evening had a different kind of vibe… Intense vibe, Morocco played so well, it was exciting to watch them,” says the actor, who couldn’t stay in Qatar for the finals due to her work commitments.
