Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan is most successful Hindi film: Selfiee box office collection

Pathaan, which is currently in its fifth week, has made 510.65 crore at the domestic box office. The action movie starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham continues to draw attention as it surpasses the Hindi version of Baahubali to claim the title of most successful Hindi film of all time.

Selfiee, starring Akshay Kumar, debuted in theatres on February 24 but had a poor opening weekend, grossing just $14.25 crore. Raj Mehta is the director of the movie.

While the Siddharth Anand movie keeps playing in theatres, it surpasses earlier box office successes like the Hindi translations of SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali, KGF, and the Aamir Khan-starring Dangal. Selfiee, which also features Emraan Hashmi, Diana Penty, and Nushratt Bharuccha, had a strong opening weekend last Friday, earning 2.60 crore net. During the weekend, it performed marginally better, getting 3.75 and 3.85 on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. Nevertheless, it was unable to maintain the momentum during the workweek and, according to Box Office India, only made 90 lakhs on Thursday. This Friday doesn’t see the premiere of a huge movie, which will ultimately help Pathaan. With Holi approaching and Pathaan entering its sixth weekend, the action movie may experience another significant upswing in the upcoming week.

“Pathaan is your true-blue commercial, masala entertainer that’s not trying to send across any message or be a social commentary on the current state of affairs in the country. It’s fun, non-fussy and fantastic at the same time. Go watch it for Shah Rukh Khan and you would only come back with a smile, and maybe grooving a bit. Don’t miss the scene just before end credits for it’s not everyday you see two superstars in a banter about their stardom.”

Dimple Kapadia and Ashutosh Rana are also featured in the January 25 release Pathaan. The movie, which is scripted by Shridhar Raghavan, is made by Yash Raj Films.
