Following his revelation that he was fired from the Channel 4 show after being diagnosed with cancer, Jonnie Irwin has received a tone of love and support from his followers.
The 48-year-old father of three, was given just six months to live after being diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in August 2020 that had spread to his brain. He officially announced his prognosis earlier this month.
Now, Jonny has acknowledged that prior to receiving a deluge of encouraging comments and mails from fans expressing their sympathy, he “had no idea how much people liked what he did” on the series.
I’ve had well-wisher notes from individuals all around the world, he told media. I promise to attempt to read every one of the heartfelt comments that thousands of people have written for me on Instagram.
They range from sensible, scientific suggestions to those from fervent believers. On my social media sites, there are countless numbers of them, and it’s been amazing.
“I haven’t disappeared, but I don’t care about the spotlight.” I didn’t realize how much people appreciated what I accomplished, but I do now.
Jonny stated in an interview on Wednesday that his contract was not renewed after he shared his cancer diagnosis. Jonnie acknowledged the decision “broke my heart.”
