Ross Butler and Zachary Levi Battle Dragons in “Shazam”

The time until Shazam!, the next superhero epic from DC Comics, when lightning strikes once more is now officially on the clock! Wrath of the gods Zachary Levi will return as the title hero and adult Billy Batson in the enchanted sequel, directed by David F. Sandberg, along with his foster family. The action-packed movie will pick up with Billy having given his foster siblings his priceless gifts, leaving them to deal not only with the pressures of adolescence but also the literal weight of the world.

When Anthea (Rachel Zegler) and Kalypso (Lucy Liu), the daughters of Atlas Hespera (Helen Mirren), set out to reclaim the abilities they feel the Shazam Family took from their father, Billy and his newly discovered Shazam Family will face a new enemy. Levi and Ross Butler, who plays Eugene Choi’s adult superhero half, can be seen embracing the magical messiness of the movie in a recent behind-the-scenes video.

The clip shows Butler enjoying his reunion with his on-screen superhero siblings while sporting his lightning-bolt-adorned outfit. With Butler and the adult superheroes bouncing around enthusiastically in between takes, it is obvious that the trademark fun from the Shazam! Franchise extends to the production’s backstage activities. “Returning seems like a family reunion, “In the video, he states. “There are times when we are laughing around and then suddenly we are fighting dragons.

The clip then transitions to a moment from the movie when a scary dragon with blazing blue eyes enters the picture in a subtle homage to the latter. Eugene states, obviously in awe of the not-so-mythical beast, “I am suddenly here for this.” Levi’s heroic doppelgänger responds, “‘Cos, on one hand, it’s extremely horrifying on the other hand ‘DRAGON! ‘,” before explaining.

The video does an excellent job of capturing the naiveté that naturally results from teenagers possessing superpowers. It also fits with the Shazamfamily’s upcoming new learning experience, which will need them to learn how to cooperate to defeat their adversaries. Previously, director Sandberg explained to Collider that instead of continuing to do “their own thing,” the movie “is sort of about them having to learn to work together and be a heroic team.”

There will also be romance on the table for Freddy Freeman in typical comic book manner (Jack Dylan Grazer). In a previously published video, Freddy and Anthea are seen having a really endearing meet-cute. The two struck it up right away after colliding in the corridor, and Anthea eventually referred to Freddy as a “hero.”

Yet it’s never that easy in good romances, as everyone knows. Anthea being one of Atlas’ children and Freddy possessing Shazampowers  mean that they are eventually on different ends of the cosmos, which is a naturally complicated concept. The Shazamfamily faces more issues than just teenage slackerdom and sweetheart relationships; their leader will also soon have to deal with the enormous responsibility that comes with being a hero, which is likely to cause one or more crises.
