Although everything had been revealed through marketing before the movie’s debut, Shazam! Nonetheless gave audiences a “Wonder” -ful surprise. During the first weekend of release, Zachary Levi and his group of superheroes received assistance in Fury of the Gods from a very special guest star.

In what might be her last appearance as the character, Gal Gadot reprises her role as Wonder Woman/Diana Prince and plays a crucial part in the film’s climax. With what had transpired in the first movie, the star’s entrance was a welcome surprise on another level.

It was believed that Gadot’s tenure as the lead actress for Wonder Woman had come to an end when Warner Bros. officially canceled Wonder Woman 3 following the appointment of James Gunn and Peter Safran. The definite information that Gadot had been expelled from DC Studios, which has now been confirmed as inaccurate – for the time being – with her appearance, was asked for by fans online, and Gunn answered.

Superman had a brief appearance in the original Shazam! Movie, but it wasn’t Henry Cavill, who is now less likely to play Clark Kent given all that has lately transpired between DC, Warner Bros., and himself.

The film’s director, David F. Sandberg, explained that Cavill was originally intended to be in the movie but that plans fell through at the last minute, which was quite frustrating given the expectation of a big-name cameo but only receiving a simple tease. The ironic thing, he said, was that Henry Cavill was supposed to play Superman in the first film.

He added: “They then said, “Oh, Henry is not going to make it on this day, so we’ll shoot it with a stand-in and then we’ll have to pick up his coverage later,” as we were filming that sequence. It sounds like “Alright,” After having shot it in that manner, the Henry device broke, making it impossible for us to continue. It ends before you see his face because we were forced to utilize the stand-in footage.”

But with Fury of the Gods, things worked out a little differently. Despite the fact that the film’s narrative, which involves Greek gods and mythology, strongly suggests an appearance from the Warrior Princess from Themyscira, Sandberg could be excused for fearing ill luck would afflict him once more if Wonder Woman had been included in the script. Thankfully for Sandberg, Gadot was able to film her cameo despite the fact that he was directing remotely. This allowed them to simultaneously make fun of Cavill’s lack of a cameo.

I don’t think it will happen, it’s like that. Then, during the majority of the shooting of that scene, we received the same message: “Well, you’re going to have to shoot with a stand-in and then we’ll pick her up afterward because she’s not going to make it here to Atlanta at this time.” It sounds like “Sure. Yeah.” That’s when I began to consider, “Alright, so how do we solve it when we don’t get her?” We must include that in the film since it is so significant.

So I thought, “Well, I guess we need another deity. Can the character play by Helen Mirren actually survive? If she turns up, it will be such a bore. Well, it was kind of my plan. But eventually, it did happen, and we were able to film with her, which was fantastic and made me extremely happy. Since she genuinely appears at the conclusion of the film, we can make light of the headless cameo, which we could not have done otherwise, I believe, because audiences would have been outraged.

It is currently unknown if this will be Gadot’s final performance as Diana Prince. Visit the theatres right away to watch her in Shazam! The Gods’ fury. Here’s Sandberg discussing the movie and why you should watch Shazam! IMAX’s Fury of the Gods.
