HERO Ukrainian mechanics are rebuilding Russian tanks so that their men can fight the invaders.

Thousands of vehicles, including 600 tanks and over 1700 other armoured vehicles, have been lost by Vladimir Putin’s forces in Ukraine.

After being blasted by Kyiv’s soldiers, several of their burnt-out shells now litter the ground.

However, brilliant Ukrainian technicians have been hard at work restoring those that can be saved.

According to President Volodymyr Zelensky, Russia has become one of the key exporters of armaments to their adversary.

“We collect awards and put them to use to safeguard Ukraine,” he explained.

“Today, Russian forces are, in reality, one of our army’s equipment providers.”

Staff at industries and small workshops are being reassigned to repair equipment taken from Russian soldiers during the war.

“We will modify the guns so that the barrels are aimed at the enemy’s side rather than ours,” Kyiv garage owner Oleksandr Fedchecnko told the Daily Mail.

Russian military have been humiliated by the fact that several of their abandoned tanks have been dragged off the battlefield by farmers in their tractors.

A special army squad has been assigned the mission of restoring captured equipment at a Kyiv junkyard with the Ukrainian flag painted over the dreaded Russian Z.

The unit’s deputy commander, Yuri Golodov, claims responsibility for 24 Uragan rockets launched back against Russian soldiers.

“Everything we acquire from the Russian army, we send to the Ukrainian armed forces,” he told CNN.

“Everything is in good functioning order. It appears to be outdated armament, but if used appropriately, it will serve us for a long time.”

The Ukrainian mission is aided by the fact that its forces use many of the same types of tanks as their Russian adversaries.

They employ at least two Russian-made variants, the T-72 and the T-80.

According to some estimates, Ukraine already possesses more tanks than it did at the start of the invasion, due to those it has taken.

According to Forbes, which cites open source intelligence experts, its army has lost at least 74 tanks since Russia’s invasion, but it has seized at least 117 Russian tanks.

Tanks are currently the sole weaponry used against the Russians.

Ukroboronprom, the state defence firm, is now offering a $1 million prize for every aircraft it gets.

According to the firm, it has “mastered the maintenance of Russian prize equipment.”

Factories are working “round the clock” to reintroduce anti-aircraft missile systems and multiple rocket launchers to the battlefield.
