According to Ukrainian sources, Russia has attacked a Red Cross facility in Mariupol that may be harbouring injured persons or civilian cargo.

Lyudmyla Denisova, Ukraine’s human rights commissioner, stated. “In Mariupol, the invaders targeted the International Committee of the Red Cross headquarters.”

“Enemy planes and artillery fired on a building marked with a red cross on a white background, signifying the presence of wounded individuals or civilian or humanitarian cargo,” she went on to say.

An ICRC official verified that photographs circulating on social media of a wrecked structure belonged to the organization’s warehouses in Mariupol.

“Because we don’t have a team on the ground, we don’t have any more information, including potential deaths or damage,” the spokesperson explained, adding that all supplies kept there has been dispersed.
