The Director General of the World Health Organization, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, has warned the world that 60 percent of corona cases have been reported in the past few weeks, and that the best way out of the epidemic is through a comprehensive strategy.

In a message on the social networking site Twitter, Dr. Tedros said that 60% of Corona cases were reported in June alone, while the highest number of one-day cases in the world was recorded on June 28, 189,500.

DG WHO wrote on Twitter, “60% of all #COVID19 cases so far have been reported just in the past month. We’ll never get tired of saying that the best way out of this pandemic is a comprehensive approach. Not testing alone. Not physical distancing alone. Not contact tracing alone. Not masks alone. Do it all.”

He said the number of cases reported in June was more than half of those reported so far.

According to the World Health Organization, the number of people infected with the coronavirus worldwide has risen to 10,860,931, while the number of deaths due to the epidemic has risen to 520,173.

People are infected with a contagious respiratory disease called coronavirus. Out of these, 4,187,369 cases are active whereas 6,062,471 cases have been closed.

Out of active cases, 4,130,022 patients are in mild condition but 57,347 patients are in serious condition.

On the contrary, 5,557,980 patients, out of closed cases, have recovered and 504,491 people have lost their battle against the virus.
