Sony has recently launched its second camera especially for vloggers. The ZV-E10 is the successor to the ZV-1 launched last year.

While ZV-1 was a fixed lens camera, ZV-E10 is an interchangeable lens camera.

The new camera is the downgrade version of the Alpha 6400. Some of the features, that could be found in Alpha 6400, has been removed for simpler operation with additional vlogger specific features.

The ZV-E10 ahs similar 24.2MP APS-C sensor that Sony has been using for years now. It can record up to 4k resolution at 30 fps. It also supports S-Log2, S-Log3, and HLG profiles for capturing a wider dynamic range.

The flip-up display found in a6400 is replaced by a side-hinged fully articulating display that flips out and turns the other way for recording yourself.

The mode dial, which has been replaced with a simple switch to select between stills, movie, and slow motion video mode, is another missing on the ZV-E10. Aside from that, the flash has been gone.

The ZV-E10 adds a visible video record button to the top of the screen. A tally light on the front and a visible red border around the viewfinder indicate when the camera is rolling.

The ZV-E10 has a huge stereo microphone, as well as a wind muffler in the box. It also includes separate microphone and monitoring headphones ports for headphones and a microUSB port instead of a USB-C port.

The Sony ZV-E10 is designed to be a beginner’s camera. It starts at $700 for the body only and the a6400 costs roughly $900. At the end of August, it will be available in black and white as well.
