In the recent past, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam has broken a number of records and during the second T20I against Bangladesh, he added one more to his list.
Although scoring only a single run in the second T20I, Babar surpassed veteran cricketer Mohammad Hafeez to become the leading run-scorer for Pakistan in T20Is.

Ranked number one among the batsmen in the shortest format for the game, Babar scored 2,515 runs in just 64 innings, while Hafeez scored 2,514 runs in 108 innings.
Following them in the third spot is veteran cricketer Shoaib Malik who has scored 2,423 runs in 110 innings.
Babar has accomplished this milestone with an average of 47.43 and a strike rate of 129.78. His T20I career includes one century and 24 half-centuries.
Babar broke the record of the fastest batsman to reach 7,000 runs in just 189 innings. Previously the record was held by the ‘Universe Boss‘ Chris Gayle who reached the milestone in his 192nd inning.

The 27-year-old also holds the record of the fastest batsman to reach the 2,000-run mark, leaving behind the Indian skipper Virat Kohli. He reached the milestone in just 52 innings, while previously, Kohli achieved this milestone in 56 innings.

Babar also became the only batsman to have scored most centuries during a single calendar year. He scored six centuries during the period of one year.
