A 77-year-old man was playing golf in Florida’s The Villages. He reportedly punched a companion in the face amid a disagreement over golf etiquette

The incident between Richard Randell and his 84-year-old playing companion occurred at the De La Vista Golf Course in late April.

According to the station, the companion then requested Randell to move away from a green he was standing on. Randell answered that he was aware of appropriate golf etiquette.

As the debate heated up, the witness threw Randell the middle finger and threatened him.

According to the affidavit, Randell hit his companion in the face after giving the middle finger a second time. Randall was arrested and charged with violence against a person. Meanwhile, the victim was brought to a nearby hospital with a swelling bruise.

Randell is said to have pleaded not guilty.
