The final contenders for the ninth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) have been determined, with Islamabad United securing their spot after a five-wicket victory over Peshawar Zalmi in the second Eliminator at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi.
United is set to face off against Multan Sultans in the final on March 18, a team that also triumphed over Zalmi in the Qualifier.
This marks United’s first appearance in the PSL final since 2018, while the Sultans are gearing up for their fourth consecutive final.
In terms of individual performances, Babar Azam, the captain of Zalmi, is significantly ahead in the list of top run-scorers.
At 29 years old, he now ranks second for the most runs scored in a single PSL edition, having made 569 runs in 11 innings. The record is held by Fakhar Zaman of Lahore Qalandars, who scored 588 runs in 2022.

Looking at bowling stats, Multan Sultans’ duo of Usama Mir and Mohammad Ali occupy the first two spots.

2- Mohammad Ali: 18 wickets, 11 innings
3- Abrar Ahmed: 16 wickets, 10 innings
4- Akeal Hosein: 15 wickets, 10 innings,
5- David Willey: 14 wickets, 10 innings
Meanwhile, Peshawar Zalmi’s talented opener Saim Ayub continues to top the most sixes chart as the left-handed batter has been Zalmi’s one of most important players this season.
1- Saim Ayub: 21 sixes, 11 innings
2- Rassie van der Dussen: 16 sixes, 7 innings
3- Kieron Pollard: 15 sixes, 8 innings
4- Saud Shakeel: 15 sixes, 10 innings
5- Mohammad Rizwan: 15 sixes, 11 innings
