Special Assistant to PM Imran Khan for Information Lieutenant General (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa has said that a new optical cable has been made operational from Khunjerab to Islamabad.

According to details, Lieutenant General (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa, Special Assistant to Prime Minister Imran Khan for Information, said in a statement on social networking site Twitter that in the second phase, cables would be laid from Islamabad to Karachi and Gwadar.

He wrote on Twitter, “New Optical fibre cable operationalised from Khunjrab to Isd,next phase will be laid from Isd to Kci& Isd to Gwadar as part of digital highway plan,foundation for digital/IT revolution-project being processed in conjunction with China.(data centre pic)”

In his statement, Lieutenant General (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa, Special Assistant to Prime Minister Imran Khan for Information, said that the work of optical cables was being carried out under the Digital Highway Plan.

Earlier, in a message posted on social networking site Twitter, Chairman C-Pack Authority Lt. Gen. (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa had written that the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider and heads of Chinese companies had a meeting.

Lieutenant General (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa had said that the newly launched projects would create 8,000 jobs.

He said that besides discussing the commencement of work on Kohala Power and Azad Patan Power projects, steps were also taken to start work on the projects as soon as possible.

Asim Saleem Bajwa had further said that the energy projects would generate 1800 MW of electricity while the projects would also create 8,000 jobs.
