The Islamabad mayor has ordered for cleanliness activities to be carried out in the city, BOL News has learned. The Islamabad city mayor Sheikh Anser Aziz on Sunday directed the environment, park, and horticulture directorates of the Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation (IMC) to improve the state of cleanliness at different recreational spots across the city and to provide a clean and tidy environment to the visitors.
He issued these instructions during a surprise visit to various parks in the city.
During his visit to different recreational spots in the city, the mayor expressed annoyance over the growth of wild bushes, tall grass, and poor sanitary conditions.
In a statement issued by the office of mayor, the mayor asked officers of the relevant departments to clean the different parts of the city daily.
He further directed to repair different swings and street lights on priority.
“IMC will take all possible measures to keep the recreational spots clean and their environment friendly,” he was quoted as saying, adding that all the directorates should fulfill their responsibilities and do everything on time for the ease of the residents of the capital city.
