Karachi: Temperature likely to soar to 42°C as heatwave grips the city
Amidst the ongoing heat wave alert for Karachiites by Pakistan Meteorological Department,...
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said on Friday that dry desert wind may blow on Saturday in Karachi as the low air pressure in the south of Gujrat State in India may convert into depression.
According to PMD, if the low air pressure in 24 hours is converted into depression then it may direct to the north.
However, this depression may cause a light rainfall in Sindh’s south-eastern areas.
PMD also said that the depression’s effects may cause dry desert-like wind in Karachi.
Earlier this week, amidst the ongoing heatwave alert for Karachiites by Pakistan Meteorological Department, the temperature of Karachi was recorded 42°C.
According to the PMD, the port city was under the influence of a high-pressure area over Central Asia as the sea breeze towards the city had been cut off.
The Pakistan Medical Association and other medical bodies had urged the people to remain cautious and vigilant, advised them to avoid venturing out in the sun from 11 am till 4 pm.
