A District and Sessions Court of Islamabad on Sunday approved two-day physical remand of former PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry.
Fawad was brought to the Islamabad court, where he appeared before Duty Magistrate Abbas Shah.
The arrest of Fawad Chaudhry had stemmed from an FIR filed by an individual named Zaheer, who alleged that Fawad had borrowed a sum of Rupees five million from him.
During the court hearing, the police sought a five-day remand for further inquiry into the matter; but only a two-day physical remand was approved.
As part of the legal proceedings, the contents of the FIR were read out in court.
In the course of the proceedings, Fawad Chaudhry requested medical attention for a lung issue and also sought permission to meet his children.
He remarked on the complainant, Zaheer, not attending the court proceedings, stating that Zaheer was “so lazy” that he couldn’t even appear in court.
The court issued a written order on Fawad’s remand stating that medical examination of former PTI leader must be done before and after the remand.
Added to produce Fawad before the court on November 7 at 11 am.
