As Pakistan to take on Bangladesh in T-20 cricket series on Jan 24, the Lahore Police chalked out a comprehensive security plan for the forthcoming match.

The international cricket series will begin on January 24 at Lahore’s Qaddafi Stadium.

The police directed to ensure foolproof security for the players as well as citizens visiting cricket stadium to enjoy the matches.

DIG operations claimed that Lahore police are fully prepared for the security of the series. He added that Lahore police is playing a vital role in bringing international cricket back in the country.

According to DIG Operations Babar Saeed, 17 SSPs, 48 DSPs, 134 inspectors and 592 upper sub-ordinates will be deployed during the series.

He said that police is in contact with all concerned institutions with regard to security arrangements and search and sweep operations underway in the vicinity of the teams’ accommodation, route and stadium’s premises and surety bonds also collected from concerned persons to ensure peaceful series.

Babar Saeed further said that Dolphin squad, Elite and PRU teams will patrol constantly,  monitoring of teams and stadium sides will be done through CCTV cameras.

DIG operations said that to minimize problems faced by the public, keeping traffic flow normal is a priority.

He further said that prohibited items will be completely banned in the stadium.

He also requested cricket fans to cooperate with police and park their vehicles at designated spots.

He said that Dolphin Squad, Elite and Police Response Unit teams will continue patrolling around the specific areas of the city.

Snipers will be deputed on the rooftops to keep an eye on all the movements during these matches.

Similarly, search and sweep operations are being conducted on a daily basis in the city particularly around the cricket stadium and designated areas.

Parking places would be reserved at different points of the city.

Bangladesh will play three T20Is in Lahore from 24th to 27th of this month.

The first ICC World Test Championship will be held from 7th of next month in Rawalpindi while the second test will be played from 5th of April in Karachi.

According to schedule, only ODI will be played on 3rd April in Karachi.
