New Zealand beat West Indies in the first T20 Match

New Zealand defeated West Indies by 5 wickets in the first T20 match after a thrilling contest.

New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat first in the rain-affected T20 match at Eden Park, Auckland.

West Indies scored 180 for 7 in the allotted 16 overs thanks to an unbeaten 75 by captain Kieron Pollard.

Andre Fletcher (34) and Fabian Allen (30) were the other notable batsmen.

For New Zealand, Loki Ferguson took 5 wickets while Tim Southee took 2 wickets.
