The remaining matches of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2021 will be held as per schedule, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed on Tuesday.
PCB’s media Director Sami Burni confirmed that Islamabad United Vs Quetta Gladiators will be held tonight as per schedule.
Sami Burni addressed a press conference at the National Stadium Karachi today. He said, “We conducted 244 PCR tests, in addition to the rapid tests conducted,” he said. “Of the 244 tests, three have come back positive. Two foreign players and one support staff have tested positive.”
Burni said that those who are in the bio-secure bubble will be retested on Thursday. He said, “At the moment, more than 300 people are in the bubble,” These include players, officials, support staff, franchise owners, and security officials.”
He said that the organizing committee of the PSL has told all players to “exercise caution” at the moment. “We have not told players to go into quarantine or self-isolation,” he added.
The announcement comes after Islamabad United player Fawad Ahmed tested positive for coronavirus.
