Tokyo Olympics Ends, US Beats China In Medals Race

The Olympics, which began on July 23 in the Japanese capital, Tokyo, came to an end after 16 days, with the United States proving its supremacy.

The President of the International Olympic Committee, Thomas Bach handed over the Olympic flag to the Mayor of Paris, the capital of France, where the 2024 Olympic Games will be held.

The United States won the most medals, winning a total of 113 medals, including 39 gold, 41 silver and 33 bronze.

China has secured the second position with 88 medals, but one step behind the United States in gold medals.

Chinese athletes won 38 gold, 32 silver and 18 bronze medals.

Japan, the host of the Tokyo Olympics 2020, finished third in the medal race, with a total of 58 medals, including 27 gold, 14 silver and 17 bronze.

The UK also managed to make a name in the top 5 countries and moved up to the fourth place with 22 gold medals, otherwise, the total number was higher than Japan.

The UK won a total of 65 medals, including 22 gold, 21 silver and 22 bronze medals.

The overall performance of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) was also excellent, but it finished fifth in the gold medal race and third in overall.

Russia’s athletes won 20 gold, 28 silver and 23 bronze medals, bringing the total to 71.

The Tokyo Olympics 2020 was supposed to be held in 2020, but due to the global outbreak of the coronavirus, the Olympics, like other competitions, were postponed. However, despite the competition being held in 2021, it was decided to name the Games Tokyo Olympics 2020.
