Sean Longstaff and Miguel Almiron, according to Eddie Howe, have the chance to solidify their long-term careers at Newcastle United.

Ryan Fraser’s hamstring injury is set to keep him out of Sunday’s Premier League match against Leicester City at St. James’ Park. Paraguayan Almiron is slated to start.

Longstaff, on the other hand, is almost set to start on the bench due to the form of Bruno Guimaraes and the rest of the United midfield.

Almiron, who has been linked with a move to La Liga this summer, and Longstaff, whose United contract expires in June, both have a future at Newcastle, according to Howe.

When given the chance in the club’s final seven Premier League games, the duo will have to prove themselves to the people.

When asked about Almiron’s lack of starts, Howe responded, “That’s in no way a reflection upon Miggy.”

“It’s most likely due to Ryan and Maxi (Allan Saint-Maximin), who have done exceptionally well in the vast regions.”

“Miggy is a player we admire because of his contagious enthusiasm. He works incredibly hard, and I felt he did a fantastic job when he came on against Wolves; he added a new dimension to our play. He came in from behind and pressed hard.”

“I’d love for Miggy to have a fantastic run and do exceptionally well. He’s been well-trained behind the scenes, and his attitude has been wonderful since we arrived. I’m optimistic. If there is an opportunity for him, he will seize it with both hands.”

Howe understands that Longstaff will become dissatisfied with his lack of playing time at United, especially after delivering when called upon, as he did recently at Stamford Bridge.

However, the head coach does not believe his time has come, especially because negotiations for a new contract are still ongoing.

“I have a lot of time for him and a lot of respect for him.” Despite the fact that he has not played, he has clearly progressed. That has yet to be seen by the wider population. We’ve noticed a significant improvement in his training results.”

“He’s definitely someone I admire, and I think he has a bright future here. I simply hope we can work out the contract.”

Howe has stated that the player has responded well to his coaching tactics and that he will follow through when given the opportunity.
