Rashid Khan has come a long way in the Indian Premier League, from earning a name for himself as a teenager to becoming a team’s vice-captain. In the IPL, the Afghanistan leg-spinner made a huge impact and went on to become a sensation.

After signing Rashid Khan for Rs 4 crore in the IPL 2017 auction, SunRisers Hyderabad offered him a platform. In a five-year period, he played 76 matches and took 93 wickets, earning the faith of the team management.

Rashid Khan, on the other hand, will face his previous side SRH when he plays for Gujarat Titans on Monday, April 11 at the DY Patil Stadium. The Titans’ vice-captain, a leg-spinner, will plot the demise of his previous team, which he believes will be a “strange feeling.”

“This year, I’ll be playing against a team that I’ve been a part of for the past five years. It’s a unique sensation “Before the big game, Rashid Khan spoke to the Gujarat Titans.

KANE VS RASHID

Rashid will face his former captain, Kane Williamson. Rashid, who has bowled to the New Zealand star at the international level, said he enjoys bowling to him and that the fans would enjoy seeing their material.

In fact, Rashid was a vital member of the SRH team that finished runner-up in 2018. When David Warner, who had commanded SRH, was suspended for a ball-tampering controversy, the Afghanistan bowler excelled under Williamson’s guidance.

“As a bowler, it’s always a pleasure to bowl to someone like Kane; we spent a good five years together when we had that sort of competitiveness. It’s a beautiful competition now that they’re competing against each other. That is something I believe fans would enjoy seeing “Rashid remarked.

Gujarat Titans are the only unbeaten team in IPL 2022 thus far, and they will face SRH, who are seeking to continue their winning streak after beating Chennai Super Kings last week.

Rashid went on to say of Gujarat’s approach to the season under Hardik Pandya’s captaincy: “It’s rather straightforward. We had planned to be the same at the start of the competition, and we will be. We’ll continue to enjoy each other’s company. We won’t be very concerned about the outcomes. We’ll want to keep team spirit high at all times.”
