Pep Guardiola Admits “No Words Can Help” ease Pain Of Manchester City’s Champions League exit as he refocuses on his side’s Premier League title challenge.

Pep Guardiola must now rally his troops for the remainder of the Premier League season.

As he refocuses on his side’s Premier League title campaign, Pep Guardiola concedes that “no words can assist” lessen the agony of Manchester City’s Champions League elimination.

Before Real Madrid mounted a spectacular comeback at the Bernabeu on Wednesday, City were only seconds away from clinching a place in the final against Liverpool.

Real struck twice in the last seconds of normal time to win the game 3-1 in extra time, bringing the semi-final tie to a 6-5 aggregate score.

When asked what he said to his players on Friday, Guardiola replied, “We didn’t speak. There are no words that can express how we feel.”

“It’s a matter of time; try to sleep and focus on the goals. We’ll talk tomorrow.”

The City manager must now prepare his team for the Premier League’s final stretch.

City, who trail Liverpool by one point with four games remaining, will visit Newcastle United on Sunday, a day after Jurgen Klopp’s side takes on Tottenham.

Guardiola stated, “We’re not thinking about the title, we’re focused about Newcastle.”

“That is enough to concentrate on. Then came Wolves and West Ham. It is not necessary to listen to what others have to say about what we can do.”

In his pre-match press conference, Guardiola defended his team vehemently following their latest setback on the European stage.

Despite the fact that City has dominated English football for the past decade, their Abu Dhabi owners have yet to crown them European champions.

“If people think it’s a failure, I disagree,” Guardiola remarked, referring to his team’s loss to Chelsea in the Champions League final last season.

“Everyone in the group understands how difficult it is. They accept it, nevertheless. I’m not going to start a discussion.”

“The feeling in the club is that we should try again.” Of course, we’re disappointed because we were so close.”
Guardiola, who led Barcelona to two Champions League crowns, said Real deserved to win, but City will not give up on their aim of winning the competition.

“The players wanted to play in the final, but it’s a thrill for this club to compete against Real in the manner that we did,” he remarked.

“I congratulate Liverpool and Real Madrid; they have earned it. We’ll try again next season if it doesn’t work out the first time.”
