As a result of their outstanding performance in the preliminary stages of the archery sports at the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games in Konya, the female archers from Pakistan have advanced without much difficulty to the round of 32.
Because to their higher ranks in the preliminary round, Umm-e-Kulsoom and Kiran Muhammad of Pakistan were able to skip the first round of elimination and go straight to the top 32. In the meanwhile, Sadia Mai won the first elimination round with a 7-3 victory against Ayesha Al-Ali of the UAE.
This victory propelled Mai to the next round.
Umm-e-Kulsoom finished in 17th place, Kiran in 23rd, and Sadia in 33rd place during the preliminary round.
In the first round, Umm-e-Kulsoom scored 560 points, Kiran received 532 points, and Sadia received 492 points.
In the meanwhile, Pakistan’s Abdul Rehman Hafiz was eliminated in the first round of elimination by Kuwait’s Al Harbi Abdullah. The score was 6-5 in favour of Kuwait.
According to the TRT World website, the Islamic Solidarity Games that began on August 9 will run through August 18 this year. There are a total of 355 medals up for grabs, and at least 4,000 athletes from 56 different Muslim nations are fighting for them over 24 different events.
Before being held in Turkey, the Games had previously been held in Azerbaijan (2013), Iran (2010), Saudi Arabia (2005), and Indonesia (2013). (2017). However, due to a disagreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia, the edition that was scheduled to take place in Tehran had to be cancelled.
