The second day of the second Test between England and Pakistan in Multan ended with the English team at 202-5. Spinner Abrar Ahmed kept the Men in Green in the game.
With three days left in the match, the visitors are ahead by a total of 281 runs in the second innings.

Earlier, England’s first batsman, Ben Duckett, scored a strong fifty that put them in the lead.

At the break, the left-handed batter had made a solid 58, his second fifty of the match. This gave the visitors an 89-3 lead and a 168-run lead in the game as a whole.
Pakistan’s first innings was over and they were out for 202.
Jack Leach, who spins with his left arm, beat the home team with a score of 4-98 and 100 wickets in 31 Tests.
Spin was also Pakistan’s best weapon. Will Jacks (four) and Joe Root (21) were both out by debutant Abrar Ahmed, who had taken 7-114 in England’s first innings of 281.
Ahmed also helped get Zak Crawley out for three when he hit him straight from mid-on when the batter tried to hit a quick single.
So far, Duckett has hit five boundaries. He scored his first hundred in the first Test and 63 in the first innings.
Pakistan’s batters blew a good chance in the morning session. They started the session at 107-2, with captain Babar Azam and Saud Shakeel looking to build a strong lead.
But when fast bowler Ollie Robinson got Azam out for 75 in the seventh over of the day, it shook up the innings. Seven wickets fell for just 37 runs, and the innings was over.
Shakeel (63 runs), Mohammad Rizwan (ten runs), and Mohammad Nawaz (one run) were all out by Leach in the same day.
After Leach made some progress, Root joined in with his off-break loops to get rid of Agha Salman (4) and Mohammad Ali (nought).
Since lunch was delayed for the last wicket, Faheem Ashraf (22) and Ahmed (seven not out) held on for 23 runs until Mark Wood broke their partnership.
Root’s numbers were 2-23, and Wood’s were 2-40.
Azam hit ten fours and a six, and he and Shakeel put up 91 runs for the third wicket.
Leach got Shakeel to hit a lofted shot toward mid-on, where James Anderson took a smart running catch. This was the 100th Test wicket for the spinner.
After England won the first Test by 74 runs in Rawalpindi, they have a 1-0 lead in the three-game series.
Since 2005, this is England’s first trip to Pakistan for a Test tour.
