Pakistan lost three wickets in the first session of the first day of the third and final Test in Karachi, giving England the lead.

At lunch on the first day, the home team was up 117-3. Mark Wood, Ollie Robinson, and Jack Leach each took one wicket.

Abdullah Shafique, who was only eight years old, was the first person to be taken out of the game.

Shan Masood joined the team in place of the injured Imam-ul-Haq. After making 30 runs in 37 balls, he top-edged a short ball from Mark Wood.

Ben Foakes caught Azhar Ali in a leg-side strangle after he had caught one from Robinson. The veteran batter got 45 runs, but he was out of the game right before lunch.

Earlier on Saturday, Pakistan’s captain, Babar Azam, won the toss and chose to bat first against England.

England is on its first Test tour of Pakistan since 2005. They lead the series 2-0 after winning the first game in Rawalpindi by 74 runs and the second game in Multan by 26 runs.

The tourists made two changes from the last Test. Instead of James Anderson and Will Jacks, they brought in wicketkeeper Ben Foakes and Rehan Ahmed.

At 18 years and 126 days old, Rehan becomes England’s youngest player, beating the record set by Brian Close in 1949.

Senior Pakistan batsman Azhar Ali stated that the Karachi Test would be his last on Friday.

Shan Masood, Mohammad Wasim Junior, and Nauman Ali replace Imam-ul-Haq, Mohammad Nawaz, Zahid Mahmood, and Mohammad Ali.

Wasim is 21 years old, and this is his first Test.
