Liam Livingstone will miss the rest of England’s Test series with Pakistan after suffering a knee injury in the first game.

The all-rounder debuted in England’s maiden Test. Livingstone injured his knee while fielding on match day two, according to the cricket website.

A scan revealed the all-injury rounder’s and ruled him out. He’ll return to the UK on Tuesday and begin a recovery programme under the ECB and Lancashire medical staff.

England hasn’t replaced Livingstone.

The English team, touring Pakistan for the first time since 2005, has given Pakistan a 343-run target.

On Day 4, England declared victory and exploited short-ball bowling to their advantage.

England declared their second innings on 264-7, giving Pakistan a 343-run winning goal with four sessions left.

On a surface where seven batsmen scored hundreds, England’s pace attack used short balls to hurt Pakistan’s top order.

The home side concluded day 4 263 runs behind on 80-2.

Pakistan’s first innings was 579, compared to England’s 657.

Will Jacks took 6-161 in his first test on a flat pitch where spinners struggled.
