Glenn Maxwell of Australia believes that he jinxed Pakistani spinner Abrar Ahmed’s 10-for during the second Test match between his country and England currently taking place in Multan.

Everyone was astonished by the unknown spinner’s superb bowling as he claimed seven wickets in the first innings on his debut.

Abrar’s seventh wicket of the innings was his, and Maxwell opined that he might take a 10-wicket haul.

Zahid Mahmood, Abrar’s fellow spinner, however, claimed two wickets in the span of two balls to prevent the former from taking all 10 in the innings.

The fact that only three cricketers have ever taken all ten wickets in an innings must be acknowledged. Anil Kumble of India, Jim Laker of England, and Ajaz Patel of New Zealand are on the elusive list.

With Abrar’s 7-114 in the first innings, Pakistan defeated England for 281 runs. As a result of losing the first Test in Rawalpindi, Pakistan is already behind 1-0 in the three-match series.

It should be mentioned that England won the toss and used their depth of batting to great advantage to win the first Test on Monday by 74 runs on a dead track that provided little to the bowlers.

With seven individual hundreds and five fifty-pluses, Rawalpindi produced 1,768 runs in four innings, which is the third-highest total in Test history.

England is now in Pakistan for their first Test tour since 2005 after declining to go during the intervening years due to security concerns.

Between December 17 and 21, Karachi will host the third and final Test of the series.
