Sarfaraz Ahmed, Pakistan’s wicketkeeper and batsman, was the only player to practice today before tomorrow’s second Test against New Zealand in Karachi.

After squandering several opportunities behind the wickets in the first Test, Ahmed was observed practising his keeping during the subsequent session.

Taking the place of wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan, the right-hander scored 86 and 53 in his first Test since 2019.
The Pakistani team’s head coach Saqlain Mushtaq and batting coach Mohammad Yousuf also paid a visit to the venue to scope out the pitch ahead of the upcoming second Test.

As early as 10 a.m. on Sunday morning, New Zealand players began a two-and-a-half-hour training session.

It’s worth noting that Friday’s Test match in Karachi between New Zealand and Pakistan finished in a tie.

While down by 174 runs, the home team declared their second innings on day five, session two, at a score of 311-8.

The tourists were racing along at 61-1 when terrible light called a draw, leaving New Zealand needing 138 runs to win in the final 15 overs.

Due to the fog, the second Test of the series, originally scheduled to begin on January 2, had to be moved to Karachi.

New Zealand has dominated recent matches against Pakistan, winning the last three series against them, twice in New Zealand (2016 and 2020) and once in the UAE in 2018.

When playing in Pakistan, New Zealand have only ever won one Test series, and that was back in 1969.
