KARACHI: Saim Ayub, a top-order batsman for Peshawar Zalmi in the current eighth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 8, has stated that he wants to help his team win matches.

Saim stated: “For my team, I want to develop into a match-winning player. I’ll make an effort to run up the most runs and help the squad win games. My goal will be accomplished if I am successful in assisting the team in winning.”

I’ll aim to play a game-winning inning the following time after playing a good inning, he continued.

On February 17, during Peshawar Zalmi’s match against Multan Sultans, Saim caught the attention of the entire cricket community with his aggressive style of play. Against Multan, the left-handed batter scored 53 runs off of 37 balls.

Senior athletes like Babar Azam and coach Darren Sammy, according to Saim, are teaching him new skills.

“In our team, we have individuals like Babar Azam and Sammy. I want to pick up a lot from these seniors. The seniors teach me how to behave in various match scenarios. I will keep using what I learn in the competition. Babar Azam gives young players a lot of assistance. Anytime there is an issue, I consult Babar for advice “said he.

The young batter said that while it is his goal to represent Pakistan, his current attention is on the PSL.

“Everyone, including myself, dreams about competing for the Pakistani squad. I am only thinking about the Pakistan Super League right now. I’m monitoring the procedure and will definitely participate when I have the chance “said he.

Peshawar Zalmi, who has won two of its first three games, will play Islamabad United in their fourth game on Thursday at the National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi.

It is important to note that the PSL 8 champion will not only earn the Supernova Trophy but also a check for Rs120 million, with runners-up receiving a check for Rs48 million.

Lahore Qalandars will try to become the first team to win consecutive championships, while Islamabad United will try to make history by winning the trophy three times.

Eleven games will be played in Rawalpindi, nine games each in Karachi and Lahore, and five games in Multan.
