Sharjeel Khan, a left-handed hitter, came out for training ahead of Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 8 with considerably improved fitness.

Sharjeel, who plays for Karachi Kings in the PSL, has been working hard to get in shape for the next season.

The powerful batter trained with the Kings’ squad at full strength. Sharjeel performed knocking on the side of the nets with the aid of net bowlers. Later, to prepare for the much anticipated season, he faced bowlers in the practise nets.

Before the PSL 8 season, Sharjeel discussed his approach to the batting powerplay in an interview.

The aggressive left-hander, known for going after the opposition, believes that the first six overs of the innings are vital in determining the game’s fate.

“I believe 70 to 80 per cent of the match is dictated by how the first six overs go. “I’ve learned over the years that the team with the most boundaries wins the match, so I try to milk the opening six overs,” Sharjeel was quoted as saying in a news release issued by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Saturday.

“I am also wanting to establish a good platform for my side and if I continue to bat after the end of the first six overs then I look to make sure that I keep that momentum.

“It is critical not to lose sight of the fundamentals while attempting to assess the situation. So I normally aim to take four balls or an over since every day is different and the conditions are different. Whether I’m facing a spinner or a pacer, my strategy is the same: assess the situation and then go for the attack, which frequently benefits the team as well.”
