Shahid Afridi revealed that Lahore Qalandars captain Shaheen Shah Afridi had a fever when he played against Multan Sultans in the Qualifier of the current season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Conversing with a nearby news channel, Afridi said: ” Shaheen has had a fever for a few days, and he also participated in yesterday’s game with the temperature.”
He added, “I think you shouldn’t play if you have a fever, but he [Shaheen] wanted to win the match and then rest until the final.”
In the current tournament season, Shaheen has taken 14 wickets at an economy rate of 8.61 in 10 matches.
It is important to note that the Sultans beat the Qalandars by 84 runs on Wednesday at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
The Sultans secured their third consecutive appearance in the PSL 8 final by winning.
The Qalandars only scored 76 runs in 14.3 overs despite attempting 161 runs. The Sultans qualified for the final, but Qalandars will now face the team that won the first eliminator in the second round.
Lahore, which will also host the playoffs, will be the site of the closing ceremony and final on March 19.
In addition to the Supernova Trophy, the winner will receive Rs120 million, while the runners-up will receive Rs48 million.
