Using players he managed over his successful career, Jose Mourinho has chosen his all-time best XI, with star players from both of his stints at Chelsea dominating the team.

After taking the leadership at Benfica in 2000, Mourinho went on to manage Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Real Madrid, Manchester United, and Tottenham. He is currently in charge of Roma and is sixty years old. He has won two Champions League trophies and four league crowns in four different countries.

Mourinho worked with some of the best players in football during his time there. Recently, when making an appearance on former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel’s Obi One Podcast, he revealed his fantasy team of players he coached.

Eight players who played for Mourinho at Stamford Bridge, two former Real Madrid players, and an ex-Inter Milan player make up the strong starting lineup; none of his players from his time at United or Tottenham are included.

Mourinho selected Petr Cech over Iker Casillas to start in goal because the Czech goalie helped Chelsea win three league titles while he was on the field. Javier Zanetti, who won four major trophies at Inter under Mourinho, takes the right-back spot.

Alongside Zanetti in the other defensive positions are former Chelsea players John Terry, Ricardo Carvalho, and William Gallas. In defense, Sergio Ramos is a shocking absence, even with his success in Madrid under Mourinho. It’s sure to cause some controversy since Gallas was chosen for the left back position over Marcelo and Ashley Cole.

Mourinho has a variety of alternatives in midfield after working with Wesley Sneijder and Xabi Alonso. Nevertheless, Mesut Ozil joined Chelsea’s Claude Makelele and Frank Lampard in the middle of midfield, replacing Alonso and Sneijder.

Eden Hazard is selected to start on the other wing, while Cristiano Ronaldo starts on one. Didier Drogba is preferred above Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Samuel Eto’o up front.
