Amidst the brutal state violence in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Azad Jammu and Kashmir is making strides in development and prosperity.

In a significant move, Pakistan has announced plans to host Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches in the region, aiming to promote peace and foster growth.

During the historic PSL roadshow in London’s Lord’s Cricket Ground, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi revealed that PSL matches will be held at the Muzaffarabad Cricket Stadium in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

He assured that the stadium would be upgraded to international standards, with top-quality facilities for international players. Furthermore, Muzaffarabad will offer five-star hotels for these athletes, ensuring a comfortable stay.

In addition to the PSL matches, Naqvi also announced that other international cricket events would be hosted in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, showcasing Pakistan’s ongoing commitment to sports in the region.

This bold decision underscores that sports, peace, and development are core to Kashmir’s identity. While the people of occupied Kashmir suffer under India’s oppressive rule, Pakistan is crafting a legacy of peace through sports in the beautiful region of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

The move also sends a strong message of solidarity with the people of Kashmir, showing that Pakistan stands firmly against the violence and oppression they endure.

The hosting of international sports events in Azad Jammu and Kashmir is a significant step in reinforcing Pakistan’s peaceful stance and commitment to its Kashmiri brothers.
